Most Common Questions
Do you include a printed Certificate of Analysis in the shipment?
Yes, every order will included a detailed printed certificate of analysis for each metal that is ordered. The COA is very detailed down to 4 decimal places and each lot is tested using an industrial spectrometer for accuracy.
Do you charge sales tax?
All orders shipped within the state of PA are charged sales tax as required by law. Orders shipped to any state other than PA are not charged sales tax.
What is the free shipping between 5lbs and 15lbs I see at the top of the homepage?
Due to the size and weight of the metals we sell, there is a sweet spot for our shipping costs for orders between 5lbs and 15lbs of total weight. Therefore if your entire order has a total weight between 5lbs and 15lbs we offer free shipping on that order.
Tracking & Delivery
How will my order be shipped?
We will ship your order the best method possible for your delivery address. Our shipping software has access to FedEX, UPS, and USPS. Therefore we will ship the most efficient way possible that will get the material to you the quickest while keeping the shipping cost within acceptable parameters. Typically if your order is over 20lbs it will ship FedEX or UPS Ground. If your order is above 100lbs, it could ship FedEX Freight. If your order is under 10lbs, it could ship FedEx, UPS, or USPS depending on your delivery address and the best transit time.
Will I receive a tracking number when my package is shipped?
Yes. You will receive a shipping confirmation email the day your order is shipping out. This shipping confirmation email will contain a clickable tracking link so you can easily track the package all the way to the delivery.
Do I need to be home to sign for the delivery?
No, generally we do not ship packages "signature required". However for high value shipments we do reserve the right to require a signature if we deem it necessary. For these infrequent situations, we will contact you and let you know that a signature will be required.
Returns & Refunds
How do I start a return for an item I purchased?
In order to initiate a return, please email us at support@metalshipper.com. Please keep in mind we can only offer a refund for product that is in unused condition. The item must be in the same condition it was in when you received it. We will provide instructions by email to complete the return. Please note that the customer is responsible for paying to ship the return package.
How do you process refunds?
Once we receive your return shipment back at our facility, we will inspect the material and weigh it. Your refund will be processed in the original form of payment for the amount of unused product that you have returned back to us.
How long will it take for me to receive my refund?
Once we receive your return at our facility, we will typically issue the refund within one to two business days. Please keep in mind that a refund can take two to three business days to reflect on your credit card activity.
